Beauty and the Beast

Without delving into all the interpretations of the tale, we can detect an initiatory tale aimed at resolving the duality of being: Beauty embodies the soul of the human being and the Beast, his vital force and instincts. With Jean Cocteau, whose film was released in 1946, the focus is on the representation of the artist's inner demons through the dual nature of the Beast.
