Lauren is thrown when Matt informs her that if they use police methods to find her lost daughter, Kathy may be prosecuted and go to jail. Lauren is torn: if she looks for her daughter, she will have to reveal Kathy abducted the baby and falsified records; but if she does not use police channels, she may never find her.
