The kidney patient Frederikke desperately wants to become a mother. That requires a new kidney. During Easter holiday she plans to ask her brother for the kidney he promised her as a child. Before the weekend is over old wounds boil up to the surface, revealing that the entire family has been hurting during Frederikkes lifelong illness.
