The film tells the story of a woman's love affair with a composer she admires. Macide, whose parents are deceased, lives in a small town with her aunt. Macide is delighted with this offer and moves to Istanbul to live in Süleyman Bey's house. Süleyman Bey's daughter Sacide is uncomfortable with this situation. She and her friends mock Macide for being from the countryside. At that moment, Sacide's boyfriend, Vedat Süreyya, arrives. He also looks down on Macide like the others.
