Few films manage to sustain this kind of gentle, aching humanity across three hours without ever feeling drawn out. Tom Hanks brings his usual quiet decency, but Michael Clarke Duncan's performance is the true beating heart here, full of pure, devastating innocence. The patient pacing gives every character room to breathe, making the sorrow hit that much harder. It is deeply moving, finding grace in the darkest corners of life, and leaves you sitting in silence long after the credits roll.

John Coffey'nin o koca cüssesinin altındaki masumiyeti ve elektrikli sandalyeye gittiği sahne içimi parçalamıştı. Tom Hanks ile ikisinin uyumu müthiş, finaliyle insanı darmadağın ediyor.
